NARCOSIS MANAGEMENT® - Levels 3, 4, 5 & 6
PSAI Narcosis Management® is our signature course. This training, the best in the world, has divers perform only the underwater skills that relate to the actual real world of diving. Divers will be required to keep up with Depth, Air, Time and Awareness (DATA). Divers must become comfortable and competent with the mental and motor skills at each training depth before training down to the next level. PSAI is the only agency offering Narcosis Management® training down to 240 feet (73 meters). It is taught in six different depth levels, allowing the diver choice of training depth. This Narcosis Management® course is taught on air, to better prepare divers for Trimix diving which requires the use of the less forgiving helium based gases. Good buoyancy control, gas management, gas switches and runtimes are best learned while diving on air. However, divers certified on other gas mixtures or rebreathers can also benefit form Narcosis Management® training.
----------
This course is taught in six levels. The bottom mix for each level is usually air. Narcosis Management® is the objective measured in terms of keeping track of Depth, Air, Time and Awareness (DATA). The levels and depths are as follows:
----------
Level I 30m (100')
Level II 40m (130')
Level III 46m (150')
Level IV 55m (180')
Level V 61m (200')
Level VI 73m (240')

Advanced Nitrox
The Professional Scuba Association International's Advanced Nitrox Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to utilize enriched air (Nitrox) at oxygen concentrations up to and including 100% by volume (EAN22 to Oxygen) in their diving activities, including stage decompression procedures. It is highly recommended the Advanced Nitrox Diver candidates also take Narcosis Management® - Level III in order to expand and enhance their knowledge, skills, training, and to prepare them for required decompression stops.
----------
----------
----------
Extended Ranged Nitrox
The Professional Scuba Association International's (PSAI) Extended Range Nitrox Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to conduct dives beyond 45 meters (150 feet) but not exceeding 55 meters (180 feet), using staged decompression techniques for both depth and extended bottom times. This course uses air as the primary back gas and nitrox as decompression gas(es). It is highly recommended the Extended Range Nitrox Diver candidates also take Narcosis Management® - Level IV in order to expand and enhance their knowledge, skills and training.

Trimix
The Professional Scuba Association International's (PSAI) Trimix Diver courses are designed for those divers who wish to conduct dives using helium based bottom mixes with associated advanced staged decompression techniques. The PSAI Mixed Gas diver program is conducted in three phases leading to dive depths of up to 100 meters (330 feet). These courses consist of:
----------
TRIMIX FUNDAMENTALS - Level 1: Depth 55 meters (180 feet).
----------
EXPEDITION TRIMIX - Level 2: 75 meters (245 feet).
----------
EXPLORER TRIMIX - Level 3: 100 meters (330 feet).
----------
----------
----------
Wreck Penetration Diver
The Professional Scuba Association International's (PSAI) Wreck Penetration Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to penetrate wrecks using proper techniques. These penetrations are not simple swim-throughs, but rather multi-level or multi-turn dives. This course is NOT a "progressive penetration" memorization technique course but rather teaches proper line, reel techniques and protocols.
----------
----------
----------
Cavern Diver
The Professional Scuba Association International's (PSAI) Cavern Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to enter areas where direct vertical access is not possible using proper techniques. This includes overhangs, ledges, simple openings and caverns. This course is conducted in the "daylight zone" of any solid (rock) overhead.

Cave Diver Programs
----------
The Professional Scuba Association International's (PSAI) Intro to Cave Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to make limited penetrations into the cave environment where vertical access is not possible. This includes a variety of underwater cave zones found throughout the world in both fresh and salt water environments. This course takes the diver beyond the "daylight zone" of the cavern overhead environment. The course instructs the diver in basic cave diving skills. The maximum depth of this course shall be limited to 40m (130 feet). The dives are conducted within the no-stop dive table or dive computer limits (staged decompression is not allowed). The course provides the diver with knowledge and basic skills for limited penetrations in the cave environment using single cylinders. The Rule of Third's shall apply as the minimum for gas management. If the candidate is using doubles then the 1/6 gas management rule is the minimum. The Intro to Cave Diver course is limited to main line penetration only - no jumps, gaps, traverses or circuits are allowed.
----------
----------
The Professional Scuba Association International's (PSAI) Apprentice Cave Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to enter the cave environment where vertical access is not possible. This includes a variety of underwater cave zones found throughout the world in both fresh and salt water environments. This course takes the diver beyond the "daylight zone" of the cavern overhead environment. The maximum depth of this course shall be limited to 40m (130 feet). Visibility must be at least 6 meters (20 feet). The Rule of Third's shall apply as the minimum for gas management. Decompression for this course shall be limited to a single stop on one (1) deco mix. Stage cylinders to extend the range of penetration are prohibited. Simple jumps and gaps are permitted. Once certified, the Apprentice Cave Diver is not allowed to do traverses or circuits unless under the direct supervision of a PSAI Full Cave Instructor.
----------
The PSAI Apprentice Cave Diver certification is a temporary certification with a time limit of one (1) year from the date of issuance. The certified PSAI Apprentice Cave Diver must (is expected), in that effective certification period of one (1) year, to complete training by taking the PSAI Full Cave Diver course. If the diver fails to complete Full Cave training within the one (1) year effective period, upon expiration, the diver will be certified to the PSAI Intro to Cave Diver level and be required to abide by the constraints of that level. In order for the diver, whose Apprentice Cave Diver certification has expired, to continue to progress in cave diving, the Apprentice Cave Diver course must be repeated.
----------
----------
The Professional Scuba Association International's (PSAI) Full Cave Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to enter the cave environment where vertical access is not possible.
----------
PSAI offers their divers a choice of a modified "Traditional Approach" or "The Modern Approach".
----------
----------
The major premise of the Modern Approach is to give the diver all the information, tools, skills and in water training experience, in order that when they are in the cave environment, they have a "full tool box" to deal with it and gain further experience as they continue to dive.
