PSAI Philippines Trains Naval Special Operations Group

 

To raise the operational effectiveness of the Philippine Navy, the newly created Elite Dive Team of The Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) is undergoing an intensive training program for dives deeper than recreational limits.

PSAI Philippines is proud to undertake the training program and the teaching team is composed of PSAI Training Director Simon So, PSAI Instructors George AngDyPay and Dante O. Lagac.

The NAVSOG Elite Dive Team Program is aimed for Navy divers undergo the training to the depth of 100 meters (330 feet) in three phases..
Phase I – 45 Meters.
Phase II – 60 Meters.
Phase III – 100 Meters.

The week long Phase 1 Training Program - Advanced Nitrox with decompression techniques was completed last May 28, 2010 in PSAI facility Boardwalk Dive Center, Subic Bay. (http://www.boardwalkdivecenter.com/)
The First batch of participants are included Antonio R. Lalisan (Team Leader), Josephus C. Dimaunahan (Deputy Team Leader), Carlo P. Montiel, Adrian V. Avilla., Jaime F. Bulalacao Jr. and Edgardo T. Vergara.

Phase II of the Program for Extended Range Nitrox and Trimix Fundamental is conducted last August 23 – 28 in PSAI facility Dive 7000 Resort , Anilao, Batangas. (http://www.dive7000resort.com/)
The attendants are Antonio R. Lalisan (Team Leader), Josephus C. Dimaunahan (Deputy Team Leader), Carlo P. Montiel, Edgardo T. Vergara, Roger O. Brizula Jr. and Sergs E. Estropigan.

This NAVSOG Elite Dive Team Program is sponsored by the acting Philippine Navy Flag Officer-in-Command Rear Admiral Danilo Cortez.
